Crystal is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She completed her BS and MS in Applied Psychology at Eastern Washington University. Over the last 20 years, she has worked with people across the spectrum of care, from outpatient, to school-based, to residential, to acute inpatient. Crystal has extensive experience in the areas of early childhood, trauma, and foster care/adoption. She pulls from Developmental Attachment, Brainspotting, & Shame Resilience Theory to tailor treatment for her clients. She prioritizes creating safe spaces that respect a client’s spirituality, natural supports, and gender identity. Empowering the mental health of those around her is a deep source of joy and connection. Doing it through play therapy usually means there is laughter and creativity mixed in.

Crystal grew up in Western Montana & currently lives in Billings, Montana with her husband, two children, and dog. She loves a good pun, card games, knitting, and walking her dog.

Val Beebe received her diploma in nursing from Franciscan School of Nursing, Rock Island, IL in 1973. After becoming a Marine Corps wife, she worked in many hospitals across the country as a critical care nurse. She returned to school in 1993 earning a BSN from the University of South Carolina and then an MSN from Old Dominion University fulfilling her dream to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1995. Val has experience in family practice and neurology but has worked in Pediatrics for the last 25 years. Val describes working with children as “pure joy”.

Val has two grown children and five precious grandchildren. During the rare times she is not working, she loves to read, hike, camp and steward her forested acreage at the Birdsong Tree Farm in Kila, MT where she cares for her horses, donkeys, dogs and any other stray animal that may wander into her world.

Ericca is a pediatric Nurse Practitioner with her Doctorate degree who completed her Pediatric Residency at Driscoll Children ‘s Hospital in Corpus Christi, Tx. She started out with her Masters degree as a PNP and worked for 7 years then went back to complete her doctorate and residency. She is currently working in Glendive Montana at a small rural clinic and hospital where she moved to from Dallas seven years ago as a locum and fell in love with it. She loves being able to help kids and be apart of a small community. She has been in pediatric medicine for 22 years now and specializes in pediatric mental health, complex pediatric care and pediatric trauma. She has been honored to serve on the MTAAP board as the first NP member at large for the last four years and has met the most amazing pediatricians and learned so much about Montana ‘s children. She has also been able to participate in local and state level legislation.

She currently lives with her 21 month old foster son and her 20 year old daughter and has two sons who are both married and live in Kansas. She also has three beautiful grandchildren ages 4, 2 and 10 months. She went into pediatric medicine after loosing her five month old son to hypo-plastic right heart 27 years ago. He taught her so much and has driven her love for medically complex kids. For fun she loves to travel, hike and spend time with her family.

Dr. Kim Byxbee was born and raised in Spokane, WA and her love of the mountains lured her to the Flathead Valley. She received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington and completed her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2017 from the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

Since graduation, she has practiced general dentistry in the Flathead Valley, having worked at CSKT Tribal Health in St. Ignatius, Big Sky Pediatric Dentistry, and at Greater Valley Health Center here in Kalispell. She volunteers her dental skills at Shepherds Hands, Sealants for Smiles, and is an Affiliate Faculty member for University of Washington.

With Kim’s affinity for people, she strives to serve her patients with the utmost of compassion, integrity, and clinical experience. She seeks to bridge the gap that occurs as a child ages and transitions from a pediatric to an adult dentist. She focuses on working with teens to make this process smooth and less intimidating.

When Dr. Byxbee is not in the dental office, you will most likely find her on the ski slopes or floating a river. She has a passion for the outdoors and loves to ski, raft, bike, and hike. She’s an active member of several soccer and hockey leagues. She has also been a previous ski instructor at Whitefish Mountain. The love of her family and friends brings her great joy and gives balance to her busy dental career.

John Cole has been a full-time pediatrician in Montana since 2013. Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Cole earned both a Master of Science in anatomy and cellular biology as well as his medical degree at Rush University in Chicago. He completed his pediatrics internship and residency through the University of Vermont in Burlington. He is a past president of the Montana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and provides pediatric care at Logan Children’s Primary Care in Kalispell, MT.

He enjoys outdoor activities including camping, hiking, running and skiing. As a long-time competitive swimmer, Dr. Cole swam the entire 28-mile length of Flathead Lake in just under 20 hours – without a wetsuit in 2017!

Nastastia is board-certified in Pediatric primary care and also specializes in aesthetic medicine. Nastastia has been practicing since 2007; her career has been shaped by her deep passion for the pediatric population as well as her love for helping and empowering others to be their best versions of themselves. Nastastia has been a part of MT Pediatrics since 2021. Together, Nastastia and her husband have 6 children. You can often find Nastastia and her family wake surfing, skiing on Whitefish Mountain, hiking in Glacier Park, mountain biking, running, traveling the world, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Charlie Hastings is a board-certified pediatrician, specializing in medical care for newborns to adolescents. Charlie grew up in Texas and attended Baylor University where he received a bachelor ‘s degree in outdoor recreation. He went on to earn a master ‘s in public health at Loma Linda University in Southern California before attending medical school at Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee where he completed his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. Upon graduation, Charlie completed his residency training in pediatrics at Texas A&M Health Science Center.

When he isn ‘t caring for his patients, Charlie enjoys spending time with his wife, Shae, and three kids. He also loves a good challenge in the outdoors, having finished the legendary Leadville 100 mountain bike race and the R2R2R trail run among other stout objectives. These challenging experiences in the mountains inspired Charlie to start Mountain Kids Pediatrics. His vision was – and is – to help kids use the lessons learned in the mountains to thrive in every aspect of life!

Pepper Henyon

Dr. Henyon is a board-certified pediatrician, received her medical degree from the University of Iowa and completed her residency at the University of Virginia. Dr. Henyon has been a practicing pediatrician in Bozeman, Montana, since 2002. She takes care of children both in the clinic as well as the hospital at Bozeman Health. Dr. Henyon has been a consultant for HPDP’s School-Based Clinics since 2019 and cares for children in the School-Based Health Clinics as well as by Telemedicine. She also works for Montana Pediatrics to provide telemedicine coverage throughout Montana with the goal of improving healthcare access. Dr. Henyon is excited to partner with HPDP to expand medical services to the children at Fort Peck. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, is married, and has 3 children, 2 dogs, and 1 cat.

Tom Hoffman began as a hospitalist on the acute adolescent inpatient unit in September 2019 at Shodair Children ‘s Hospital. Today he serves as the hospital ‘s chief medical officer of psychiatry and also sees children out of Shodair ‘s Butte Outpatient Clinic, in addition to being a provider for children in Fort Peck.

Dr. Hoffman is originally from Great Falls, Montana. A graduate of Carroll College, he attended medical school at the University of Washington. From there, he completed his training in general psychiatry at the University of Vermont, child psychiatry at the University of New Mexico, and forensic psychiatry at the University of Colorado. He is currently the co-chair of the rural psychiatry committee for AACAP and is a past president of both the Montana Association of Pediatric Psychiatrists and the Montana Psychiatric Association.

Atty Moriarty is a pediatric hospitalist in Missoula, MT with Missoula Pediatric Associates. She grew up in the Flathead Valley and spent her summers exploring Glacier and her winters nordic ski racing. She attended St. Lawrence University for undergraduate studies where she graduated with a degree in Biology. She then moved back home to Montana to then earn her Masters of Science from Montana State University in Bozeman. She then entered the WWAMI program through the University of Washington for her medical degree. She attended residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH where she served as resident representative to the New Hampshire AAP and worked on state policy and advocacy for Paid Family Medical Leave. Upon graduation from residency, Atty and her husband and two boys moved back to Montana where she worked as a hospitalist in Billings, MT for two years. She now lives in Missoula, with her boy troupe and if not working can be found exploring trails or working in her garden.

Heidi has committed her clinical career to focus on the needs of children, adolescents and families. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Montana, and then completed her MSW through Walla Walla University and has been in the social services field as a clinical social worker for over 20 years. She has had a variety of professional experiences in outpatient mental health, inpatient mental health, and medical settings and draws from the richness these experiences have provided. In her free time, Heidi enjoys time with her husband, children, and two dogs, cooking, camping, rafting, and enjoying all that nature has to offer.

Angie Ostrowski is a Bozeman-based pediatrician who graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine before completing her residency in Utah. She previously worked as a pediatrician in the hospital and clinic settings in Butte.

Dr. Ostrowski receives gratification from sharing her skill and knowledge about children and healthcare with other providers, families and youth who are exploring a field in medicine. Her ability to be part of the Fort Peck team of providers, caring for a community that may be far away in miles but close in sharing the Montana spirit brings her joy. Dr. Ostrowski enjoys traveling and the outdoors. She is also a dedicated cyclist and loves cooking.

Emily Pinto Taylor earned her undergraduate degree at Emory University. She went on to earn her medical degree at Loyola University of Chicago-Stritch School of Medicine, completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and completed fellowships in both hospice/palliative care and geriatrics at Emory University.

Dr. Pinto Taylor is passionate about caring for vulnerable populations and listening to patients ‘ stories. In her spare time, she loves chasing after her three kiddos, supporting her husband’s charter school, reading bad murder mysteries, running too far, and cooking.

Amy Rickman is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Amy received her bachelor ‘s degree in nursing at Baker University, her master ‘s degree in nursing and child health at the University of Alabama and then went on to earn her doctorate in nursing practice at Capella University. Amy is an Air Force veteran, where she was honored to be able to address the healthcare needs of the children of service members.

Amy and her husband have a blended family of 6 children, ranging from ages 16 to 28. She enjoys hiking, being outdoors, cycling, ballroom dancing, and experiencing foods from all cultures. Amy describes her passion for pediatrics as “having a true relationship with families, establishing trust, treating each child as a unique person, and discussing treatment plans together”.

Austine Siomos

Austine Siomos is a pediatric cardiologist at Logan Health Children’s. She was born and raised in Washington State. She attended Dartmouth College and then went on to attend medical school at Loyola in Chicago. During that time, she took two trips to Guatemala to provide medical support and learn Spanish. Dr. Siomos completed her pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at Children ‘s Colorado. After fellowship she and her husband moved to Kalispell. Dr. Siomos has been providing services for Montana Pediatrics and the HPDP Telemedicine Program since January 1, 2021. She has presented webinars for the school based health clinic staff on “COVID-19 and MISC in Children” and “Pediatric Electrocardiogram/ECG: The Basics for Set up and Interpretation”. During her free time Dr Siomos enjoys baking bread with a sourdough starter she started during her cardiology training. Her family enjoys gardening as a way to introduce health foods to their children.

Dr. Heather Zaluski is a Board-Certified Child Psychiatrist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of complex mental health disorders in children and adolescents. Dr. Zaluski attended Medical School at Michigan State University ‘s College of Human Medicine and graduated with Honors in 2002. She completed her 5-year residency and fellowship program at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and then moved to Montana with her family. Dr. Zaluski worked at Shodair Children ‘s Hospital for 15 years in the Acute, Residential and Outpatient settings, and was the Medical Director from December 2019 – July 2022. She served as the Medical Director for the Rural Behavioral Health Institute from July 2022 – August 2023.

Currently, Dr. Zaluski is in private practice at Big River Psychology in Helena, MT. Her professional focus is on providing clinical consultations for complex cases. She also authors continuing education content, provides expert witness testimony, and collaborates with primary care providers. Dr. Zaluski has presented on the state and national levels on a variety of topics in child psychiatry, including residential treatment, trauma informed care, and psychopharmacology for primary care providers.

n her free time, Dr. Zaluski enjoys travel, spending time with her husband and children, yoga, snorkeling and scuba diving, cooking, birding, rock hounding and quilting.
