Your Role with Our Team

As the Medical Director, your primary responsibility is to provide Montana Pediatrics’ clinical team with leadership, guidance, direction, and evaluation to support patients and their families in addition to leading improvement and consistency of care integrations through care coordination practices.

  • What you will accomplish:

    • Provide direct oversight and support of the care coordination program to promote effective care integration, in collaboration with the CMC manager and the Care Coordination RN.
    • Support the achievement of goals and objectives for the work of improving care integration that are outlined in the HRSA strategic plan.
    • Ensure a patient and family-centered philosophy in care delivery.
    • Assist in the development of necessary clinical workflows, protocols and procedures, and policies.
    • Work within an interdisciplinary team that includes the Care Coordination RN, the Care Coordination SW, Community Health Workers, and other additional team members from other hospitals or community organizations.
    • Identify appropriate measures and accommodations to meet the needs of the program and produce comprehensive and detailed project plans with deliverable timelines to ensure the success of the goals of the program.
    • Provide medical record reviews to patients participating in the clinical programs within Montana Pediatrics to identify potential quality issues and opportunities for improvement of patient care and services.
    • Adhere to compliance policies for Joint Commission Standards, state regulations, and all other applicable regulatory standards.
    • Remain informed and hold the team accountable to current best practices for pediatric medicine, interventions, and care coordination standards.
    • Provide education and support of the patient care team to those working for and collaborating with Montana Pediatrics to encourage professional skills and confidence to better serve a high-risk population of children with medical complexities.
    • Document clearly and concisely all interactions, interventions, and outcomes of physician advisory work performed for clinical issues and time-keeping system for billing issues and monitoring.
    • Performs other related duties as required.
  • What is needed in the role?

    • Current Montana medical license in good standing or the ability to obtain a Montana medical license.
    • Must be knowledgeable about working with a pediatric population ranging from infancy to adolescence including patients with communication barriers, sensory impairments, and physical limitations including but not limited to developmental, mobility, vision, or hearing impairments, or the use of technology devices.
    • The drive to improve the healthcare delivery systems through innovative and out-of-the-box solutions
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across multiple healthcare disciplines both internally and externally with stakeholders
    • Excellent organizational skills, detail orientation, self-starting attitude and possesses critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
    • A deep belief in the importance of listening to and placing those we serve at the center of all we do. This is NOT healthcare as usual!
    • The ability to identify areas in need of improvement and serve an active role in developing solutions.

  • Nitty gritty details:

    • This position is part time .2 FTE
    • Montana Pediatrics has a location in Kalispell, however, telecommuting can be available for the right candidate.
